For a large, ambitious project like eSchwechat.at, it is necessary to be well anchored within the community. This is where its own 
Programme Steering Group comes into play, which reflects the population, the public administration, education and research as well as the economy of the town of Schwechat.
An important part of the Programme Steering Group is the Project Management. This entails developing new, individual ideas and also presenting the project ideas of third parties. It then brings all the right people together round the discussion table and ensures the right type of synergy. On top of this, the Programme Management works out suggestions for the programme budget, carries out work in monitoring the implementation of the programmes, looks for suitable sources of funding (on EU, national and regional levels) for acquiring additional financial means and also looks for international project partners. The Programme Management takes care of setting in stone the goals and methodology and is the first point of contact for eSchwechat.at.
The Programme Management, which has been run by 
Innovation Consultancy GmbH since eSchwechat.at’s inception, also has a role in location marketing. This takes place in external location marketing (outside of Schwechat, national and international) as well as internal (with Schwechat’s population). Through the best suited communication channels for each case (print, web, events, media work, etc.) Schwechat the High-Tech location is promoted and held up as attractive for new businesses hoping to move there.
